Our standard
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, as the standard for this website. The site is built to work with screen readers, keyboard navigation and screen magnification, on phones, tablets and computers.
What we have done
Text is checked against the WCAG contrast minimums, including text that sits on colored or frosted surfaces. Links, buttons and form fields can be reached and used with a keyboard, and a visible outline shows where you are on the page. Buttons and links are sized to be easy to tap on a phone. Photos that carry information have text descriptions. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site's moving animations are turned off. The short film that introduces our new look plays only on your first visit to the home page. It plays without sound, and you can skip it with the Skip button or the Escape key. It does not play if your device is set to reduce motion.
Where we still fall short
Most of our patient forms are PDF files, and they may not work well with every screen reader. If a form is hard to use, call the office and our staff can help. Online booking, the patient portal and online bill pay are run by other companies. We do not control how accessible they are, but if one of them gets in your way, call us and we will help.
